One day when you're headed home from the store and you aren't in a rush, have the kids guide you home. See if they know their rights and lefts. Turn it into a game for the older kids by timing it and see if they can beat their last time. Make it tricky by making a wrong turn and seeing if they notice. For older children see if they can navigate you home with pointers or cues. Just drive and they need to tell you when and where to turn. This also provides an opportunity for the kids to feel in control.
Welcome to How to Tame Your Circus! A blog full of simple creative, cost effective, outside of the box activities and educational programs. Sometimes your house can feel like a circus and it's like everyday you feel less and less encouraged and the kids seem like they have been possessed by circus animals that are taking over. Well become the Ring Leader again. I make it a point to create various programs that are simple to do at home, but make your kids think you created it just for them.
